Introduction

The SAFAR project aims to enhance firefighter and crisis manager training with the use of immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Learning Management Systems (LMS). It seeks to adapt to the increasing tactical, strategic, and technical demands of modern firefighting by utilizing modern training technologies for more realistic training environments.

Objectives

The project aligns with the European Skills Agenda and Digital Europe priorities on digital skill development, highlighting the need for proactive and multifaceted approaches in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector to integrate and drive innovation and digitalization.

Actions

Actions to achieve these objectives include creating a roadmap for immersive technologies, developing innovative teaching and learning scenarios, training digital transformation coaches, and organizing actions to impact trainers positively.

Expected Outcomes

Expected outcomes include a SAFAR training qualification model, digital transformation roadmap, training guidebook, database of XR-enriched learning scenarios, best practice guide, and scientific articles. The project aims to empower firefighting organizations with XR technology, improving trainer skills, reducing training risks and costs, and ensuring long-term access to innovative training solutions for all stakeholders.
